Join us on December 4th when the Eden House staff and guests will be decorating our Christmas tree and the lobby. We will be having snacks and Elizabeth’s world famous hot spiced cider. Last year we had a ball. Deb and John Koch will be back for the occasion and we hope to have some newbies join in. We’d like you to join us on a trolley ride to see the holiday lights on December 15th. The Eden House staff and guests will be picked up at the hotel at 6 PM after a few drinks in the lobby. Bring your camera and don’t be late. Please R.S.V.P. by the 8th of December. On X-mas eve we will be having hors d’ouvers and champagne in the lobby. Just a little get together to kick off the holidays. Please join us.

Ringing In The New Year

New Year’s Eve we will be celebrating the coming of the New Year with our guests and staff. We will be having champagne and snacks by the pool and we don’t intend to stop until after midnight. Crazy In The Old Days

I just finished a new book by William McKeen called ‘Mile Marker Zero: Key West the Moveable Feast’It found it very enjoyable not to mention that it is a quick easy read. It kicks off with Tom Corcoran getting out of the Navy and his migration to Key West. It continues on with Tom meeting Afro, Dink Bruce, Jerry Jeff Walker, Tom McGuane, Jim Harrison, Hunter S. Thompson, Tennessee Williams and Jimmy Buffett. Selling tacos from a three wheel bicycle and bartending at the Chart kept Tom in the know. McKeen fills in all the blanks. You will find out the meaning of the all those tee shirts that say, “where is Bum Farto?” As well as what a square grouper.

Old Friends come To Town

Several of the November crowd were down last month - Jack & Dana, Edie & Kevin, Linda & Bill. It was good seeing you guys as usual. They had great weather and they did lots of chillin’. Edie of Kevin & Edie told me that Judy of Tony & Judy is very ill. Judy our prayers are with you. Get well soon.

Right on Schedule

We've had a few projects this summer. We put a new roof on the main building. We tiled rooms 401, 402, 111, gift shop and well as put a new kitchen in 402. We have replaced some of the awnings on the property and added a new one off the back deck of 402. Sorry to say that I didn’t get the sauna up and running yet. Next summer for sure. The outdoor shower has been such a big hit I am looking for places on the property to add a couple more.

Smokin' Lamp Is Lit

Starting the first of January the designated smoking area at the Eden House will be south end of our elevated sundeck (over the parking lot). The 'smoker's lounge' will have a couple tables & chairs with umbrellas and lots of ashtrays. I hope this works for our guests that smoke.

The Hits Just Keep Coming

Coming soon is the new Eden House app. Yes, Elizabeth has created an Eden House app all on her own. You can follow our web cams, the blog, our reviews, check out pictures on flicker, watch You Tube videos and even make a reservation. It has been submitted to Apple and we are just for final approval. Each stage of the process has to go through the approval and it can be time consuming.

Sandy’s Café is now open 24/7 serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (full menu served all day). And even better they deliver. They have it all – buchi, café con leche, cheese toast, egg and cheese toast, breakfast wraps, omelets, Cuban mix and on and on and on. I highly recommend Sandy’s.
